The collection consists of materials created or received by Dr. Robert Lampard during his research into a book on the life of James Wheeler Davidson, a Rotary International member who established a number of international chapters in the early 20th century. The collection also consists of records related to Lampard’s research into the naming of Mount Davidson (the mountain was named in 1935 but never entered into the record), and the subsequent “first ascent” of the mountain by Lampard and Rotary International members.
