Biographical history

Albert Dye, ?-[after 1972], was born in Suffolk, England and came to Alberta in 1906 with his brothers, Arthur and Lewis, ca. 1884-1969. He worked on a cattle ranch, then in Exshaw, for Lewis near Langdon, for the Western Irrigation District, and finally took over Arthur's homestead near Elnora. During First World War he joined the 137th Battalion and served overseas. He married Verna in 1916 and they had seven children. Lewis sold his homestead, worked in British Columbia, and then moved to Irricana, Alberta. He later returned to England where he became an artist.
