Johnston was affiliated. Accession 881/11.3 consists of material relating to the publications of R. Johnston's book Folk songs North America sings: a source book for all teachers (Toronto: E.C. Collection consists of approximately 630 playing card sets from many parts of the world. The collection reflects not only Dr. Johnston's collecting passion but also his desire that the collection provide research material complementing resources in the Eugene Strens Recreational Mathematics Collection. During his lifetime, Dr. Johnston had also speculated on the possibility of inviting designs for University of Calgary playing cards which could be used for fund raising purposes to support the music archives collection.
