Consists of 114 photographs and 4 drawings compiled by Ron Henderson of the Samuel Atlantic Skead residence at 712 12 Avenue SW, Calgary. The house was designed in 1906 and demolished in 1983 or 1984. The photographs document the house, interior and exterior, prior to and during the demolition. The drawings were created in 1983 showing plans and elevations of the house as it was in 1906 and 1983.

Fonds contains drawings and panels from the Diamond Schmitt architectural practice. Material dates from 1979-1988 and includes blueprints, sepias, mylars, negatives, sketches, and panels of projects including the York University Student Centre, Arcadia Housing Cooperative, Jerusalem City Hall, Spadina Quay, and the Burns Building.

Consists of two architectural presentation drawings created by W. F. Williams of Nelson, B.C., for the competition for the Canadian Building at the New York World’s Fair. The drawings include two prints and two duplicate copies in reverse print. Also included are two clippings from the RAIC Journal that note Williams’ winning entry in the competition and an image of the pavilion.

Consists of eight architectural drawings by William A. Branton for the Calgary School Board Building Department for a proposed addition to the Glengarry School in Calgary in February 1946. The drawings are numbered 1 to 5 and 10 to 12. Drawings 6 to 9 are not included. The drawings include floor plans, elevations, and sections. The Glengarry School was gutted by fire in 1979 and subsequently levelled by the City of Calgary.

Fonds consists of records documenting the Calgary-based firm Down + Livesey Architects during the years 1995 to 2004. Records include architectural drawings, preliminary sketches, correspondence, project journals, presentation books, photographs, presentation panels, articles, and digital records. The records document numerous Down + Livesey projects, including Bliss Residence/House in the Foothills (Bragg Creek, Alberta), Grande Prairie Public Library/Prairie Art Gallery (Grande Prairie, Alberta), Vulcan County Administration Building (Vulcan, Alberta), as well as numerous projects in Calgary such as Alberta College of Art & Design Expansion, Art Gallery of Calgary, Discovery House, Westmount Road Development, Uptown Bottle Depot, and many others..

Fonds consists of T. E. A. Stanley’s drawings, specifications, and photographs relating to three residences he designed in Calgary at 1724 9A Street SW, 1740 10th Street SW, and 1731 9A Street SW. The drawings consist of floor plans, elevations, and some details for 1731 9A Street. There are specifications and contracts for 1724 9A Street and 1740 10th Street, and various letters with suppliers and notes for 1731 9A Street.

Fonds consists of correspondence, reports, portfolios, pamphlets, and newspaper clippings created or maintained by Ted Raines from 1947 to 2002. The records document his activities in the establishment of a School of Architecture in the province of Alberta, the appointment of a City Architect at the City of Calgary, federal tax reform in 1969, the Prairie Rural Housing Committee at the University of Manitoba, and the design of the Calgary Internation Airport. There are two files of portfolios and pamphlets that document the history of the Stevenson Raines architectural firm. The fonds has been divided into four series: 1. School of Architecture Committee; 2. White Paper on Tax Reform and Proposed Architectural Department City of Calgary; 3. Prairie Rural Housing Committee; and 4. Additional Donations.

Consists of sketches attributed to Buckminster Fuller of geodesic dome geometry on a Wascana Centre folder. The sketch is signed by Buckminster Fuller to the citizens of Regina, Saskatchewan, on October 12, 1973.

Fonds consists of records documenting the production of Jim Hamm’s documentary Radical Attitudes: The Architecture of Douglas Cardinal. The records include 48 raw footage videotapes of interviews and shots of Cardinal’s architectural work. Interviewees include Douglas Cardinal, Arthur Erickson, Jane Gehring, (Cardinal firm General Manager), Satish Rao (Senior Architect for Cardinal for 30 years), and Benjamin Forgey (architecture critic at Washington Post). Footage of architectural projects include several of Cardinal’s buildings in Alberta, Ottawa-Gatineau, Washington, and Regina. Also included in the fonds are production masters of the documentary, copies of Cardinal footage from CBC, copies of footage relating to the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, and time-lapse film footage of Cardinal’s work. The fonds includes several CD-Rs containing copies of images of Cardinal’s work. There is a small volume of textual records created in the production of the documentary, including releases, cue sheets, and broadcasting letters. The records provide insight into the work of Douglas Cardinal and the production of Hamm’s award-winning documentary.

Fonds consists of 149 architectural drawings from the architectural practice of H.M. & W.A. Whiddington, Whiddington & Fry, and H.M. Whiddington. H.M. Whiddington was one of the main architects in Lethbridge in the period from 1910 to 1930. The fonds documents several projects, largely in Lethbridge, but also in Edmonton, Coaldale, and Baron, Alberta, and Cranbrook and Princeton, British Columbia. The drawings include architectural plans for several important early buildings in Lethbridge, such as the Wesley Church, the Manual Training School, the Exhibition Building, Galbraith Street School, Bank of Montreal, and St. Patrick’s Catholic School. The fonds has been divided into three series: 1. H.M. & W.A. Whiddington, 2. Whiddington & Fry, and 3. H.M. Whiddington.

Collection consists of photographs of Ron Thom’s architectural work taken by John Flanders in ca. 1993. The photographs document many of Thom’s most well-known projects in British Columbia and Ontario. John Flanders’s photographs were used extensively in the publication Ron Thom: The Shaping of an Architect by Douglas Shadbolt, 1995.

Collection consists of 193 architectural drawings created in 1984 and 1985 for the SITE Highway 86 installation at Expo ’86 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The drawings were maintained by Boak Alexander as the local architect of record for the lead designer SITE, a New York City-based architectural firm founded and led by James Wines. Highway 86 was a 217 meter-long sculptural installation that celebrated the history of 20th-century transportation, featuring replicas of over 200 vehicles. The drawings document the design and construction of the installation. Following Expo ’86, the installation was dismantled and sold.

One perspective drawing by Fred Wade of the old Colonel Walker School which served as the the Calgary Retraining Centre for a time after the first world war. Fred Wade took the course in carpentry at the Soldier's Retraining Centre in the Colonel Walker School in 1919.

Fonds consists of material created by Goodfellow Architecture Ltd. including drawings, construction records such as correspondence, financial material, and change orders, exhibit panel, and architectural models of projects. These projects include various buildings for the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant, Blackfoot Crossing, and the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Consists of 15 reprographic copies of drawings of the Calgary Normal School from between 1908 and 1915 by architect A. M. Jeffers for the province of Alberta department of public works. The original drawings are held at the Provincial Archives of Alberta. The Calgary Normal School was among the first major public works built in the province. It was later renamed McDougall School in 1922. Also included are 8 reprographic copies of as built drawings of McDougall School by provincial department of public works architect Max Kattenburg for a renovation project in 1981. In 1981 the school was decommissioned and renovated into a provincial government office and meeting space.

Collection consists of records documenting the design and construction of two residences by Patkau Architects for Stewart McGregor and his family. The earlier residence was constructed in Edmonton between 1979 to 1980 and the latter was built in Calgary between 1998 and 1999. Records in the collection include copies of drawings, photographs, a model, a presentation book, and magazine articles for the Edmonton residence, and copies of drawings, construction photographs, and documentation of the building permit dispute for the Calgary residence. The collection has been divided into two series: 1. Edmonton residence; and 2. Calgary residence.
