Among the notable projects represented in the fonds are Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, False Creek Yacht Club, Canada Pavilion Expo ’92, Georgia Hotel, BC Place Convention Centre, Pacific Canada Pavilion Vancouver Aquarium, Homer Tower, The Pointe, Dalian New Town Masterplan, and Aberdeen Centre. The architectural drawings in the fonds include extensive documentation of the preliminary design stages with sketches, conceptual drawings, and design development drawings well represented in the files. Collection consists of 193 architectural drawings created in 1984 and 1985 for the SITE Highway 86 installation at Expo ’86 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The drawings were maintained by Boak Alexander as the local architect of record for the lead designer SITE, a New York City-based architectural firm founded and led by James Wines. Highway 86 was a 217 meter-long sculptural installation that celebrated the history of 20th-century transportation, featuring replicas of over 200 vehicles. The drawings document the design and construction of the installation. Following Expo ’86, the installation was dismantled and sold.
