Ernest Herman Boalch worked as a paymaster for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Calgary, Alberta from 1911 to 1951. He married Clare F. Crawford. Their daughter Anne married C.W. "Bill" Bryant, a photographer.
