Records of the Welfare and Retirement Fund include minutes, decisions, annual reports, financial records, correspondence, reports, agreements, mine operators’ employment records, and case files of Welfare and Retirement Fund beneficiaries.

The fonds consists of family correspondence; and business correspondence pertaining to the Alberta Associated Oil Fields Ltd. and the Red Deer Valley Coal Co., including leases, invoices, receipts, a progress report, newsclippings, financial statements, mine blueprints, and photographs of coal mines.

The fonds consists of administration files pertaining to MAA locals, Metis history, government relations, meetings and conferences, the native Council of Canada, cultural heritage, housing, projects and programs, education, communications, other organizations, correctional institutes, land, recreation, environment, health and welfare, and economic development (1968-1978); personal files of various MAA employees (1969-1978); videos of meetings, workshops and special events (1967-1977); and audio recordings of meetings and workshops (1969-1973).

The fonds consists of correspondence about engineering projects (1910-1959); membership records, annual reports, and correspondence with engineering organizations in which he was active; and reports and photographs of coal in Kananaskis.

The fonds consists of proceedings, financial records, and newsletters of the Grand Lodge, Rebekah Assembly, and Theta Rho Girls Club; the prospectus and correspondence of the Alberta Oddfellows Temple Limited; and minutes, correspondence, financial and membership records of defunct lodges.

The fonds consists of Harold's diaries (1920, 1923, 1953, 1957 and nd), correspondence (1916-1977) and records of organizations to which he belonged; Christine's correspondence (1917-1977); and certificates, programs, family photographs and other family papers.

The fonds consists of surveying correspondence and plans (1922-1953), field notebooks (1926-1952), military papers (1915-1917), some personal correspondence (1907-1964), and photographs of survey parties and camps (1909-1910, 1928-1929).

The fonds consists of correspondence, contracts and wage agreements, minutes, reports, reference material and financial records; photographs of coal mining operations and conferences, and of individuals prominent in the industry; recorded interviews with L.C. Stevens and Mike Vitalli about the history of coal mining in the west; and an address by Lieutenant-Governor MacEwan to the 24th Canadian Conference on Coal.

These land examination reports were prepared by CPR's Land Inspectors, and include the following elements (not necessarily all of them in any single report), which helped the railway determine the value of the land, and what price they should charge for it: average grade; nearest railway station; elevators; nationality of nearest settlers; type of farming in district; nearest creamery, post office, school, church; average rainfall; area of arable land; soil type; timber cover; surface water and well depth; grass and hay cover; stone and coal in district; improvements made; and general remarks.

The fonds consists of school district records including cashbooks, daily registers, minutes, monthly attendance reports, financial statements, tax rolls and invoices; and school division records including ledgers, correspondence and invoices.
