Biographical history

Canadian poet and novelist Leona Gom was born in Fairview, Alberta, on August 29, 1946. She received a B.Ed and M.A. from the University of Edmonton and held teaching roles at Kwantlen College, Douglas College, the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia. She published 8 novels, 6 poetry collections and held writer-in-residence positions at the University of Alberta, University of Lethbridge and University of Winnipeg. Her poems were included in publications across Canada and she was editor of the Kwantlen College publication "Event."
