Consists of various objects including moccasins, headbands, evening bags, mukluks, necklaces, pictures and game bags created with traditional work methods and decorated with moose or caribou hair, quills, and fur.

The fonds consists of alphabetically arranged subject files created while anthropologist at the National Museum. These contain Leechman's correspondence, articles and research notes on various native peoples topics; articles and reports collected for reference purposes; and circulars, convention proceedings, etc., of organizations to which he belonged. Includes photographs of British Columbia and Yukon native peoples, native villages and petroglyphs.

The fonds consists of photographs taken while serving in the NWT: RCMP detachments, activities and personalities, Slaveys, Inuit, a treaty payment at Fort Rae (Treaty 11), Roman Catholic missions, dog sleds, drying fish, and the RCMP schooner "St. Roch" (1928-1940). Includes photograph of Carter in uniform (1926) and a letter by Carter describing the Albert Johnson hunt (1970).
