Biographical history

William Walter Westaver Grant, 1892-1968, was born in Gibralter. He served as an officer in the wireless and telegraphic section of the Royal Flying Corps in the First World War. In 1921 he built two radio stations in Alberta, and later worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). He also served in the Second World War. He married Clara Hannah Clemson, 1894-1937, and they had four children, William Ernest, 1918-1980, Robert Stuart, 1920-2009, Duncan Marshall, 1921-1943, and Barbara Helen (Terry), 1923-2009. He married Edith Florence Hutchison in 1937 and they had two children, Raymon Hutchison, 1930-2000, and Jacqueline Clare, 1945- .
