Ruth McMillan, 1893-1949, was born in Calgary, Alberta, the daughter of Charles Wilfred McMillan, 1864-1944, and Elena Eugenie Jones. She was a childhood friend of Calgary musician Kathleen Parlow. Her sister married F.C. Manning of Manning-Egleston Lumber.
