Biographical history
Robert Cooper Cole lived in Lacombe, Alberta during the mid-1930s, and was an agent for Hambleys Electric Hatcheries Company. From 1936 to 1943 he was a driver for James Storage and Cartage in Calgary. He invented an improved cup and saucer which he unsuccessfully tried to patent.

Archival history
This fonds was found in the attic of a house at 1319 Centre St. S. in Calgary. The house, originally number 1313 Centre St., belonged to Robert and Winnifred Merkley. Cole may have been a boarder. Hank Beeksma, who lived in the house in 1987, found and donated the records.
