Biographical history
Richard Bernard Sullivan, 1880-1966, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and came to Calgary, Alberta with the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1908. He was a steam shovel engineer for 40 years and retired in 1946. He and his wife, Margaret Mary Sullivan, ?-1957, had two daughters, Mother Mary Aquinas and Bernadette, and one son, Eugene.

The fonds consists of photographs of CPR steam shovel and crews at Telford, Lundbreck, Aldersyde and Suffield in Alberta; and at Estevan, Saskatchewan. Includes views of a fire at Fernie, British Columbia; bridges at Kirkella and Bear Creek in Manitoba; and views of Jamieson Construction Company shovel in Lacombe, Alberta.
