Fonds F1390 - Rev. John W. Niddrie fonds

Rev. John W. Niddrie, 1864-1940, was born in Argylshire, Scotland. He and his family (brother William, sister Maria and mother Jane) moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1883. In 1889 he moved to the Stoney reserve at Morley, Alberta on the invitation of Rev. John McDougall. He remained in Morley for 20 years, working as a Methodist missionary and teaching at the Morley school. He was transferred to Manitoba ca. 1909 and worked at Oxford House and Island Lake for ten years. He then moved to the Berens River Mission where he continued his missionary work until his death. He never married.
