Biographical history

Oliver Deenfeldt Christensen, 1924-2017, was born in Alberta, the son of Otto D. Christensen of Standard. He was a cowboy at the Bar U ranch in the 1940s and later returned to farm at Standard. He retired to Strathmore, Alberta. He attended Our Saviour's Community Lutheran Church in Hussar.

The fonds consists of transcripts of interviews with Oliver Christensen, done by Barbara Holliday in February and March of 1999, about his life at the Bar U; photocopies of letters written to Oliver from his family in Standard (1945-1951); milk production records from Berkelow farm (1944); and family memorabilia (ca. 1907-1948). Includes records of the Hussar Lutheran Church (1952-1986), including annual reports, programs of services, financial statements, and insurance correspondence regarding the 1975 fire.
