Fonds consists of material gathered and created by Norma Stowe during her time of service during WWII in the South African Military Nursing Service. Stowe sent letters home from both South Africa and Cairo where she was stationed as a nurse working for the South African Army. These letters are arranged chronologically in the Correspondence series. Photographs, which were likely originally sent as enclosures, are arranged in the Photographs series. Other material, including ephemera, certificates, and military documentation, is arranged in thematic series corresponding to the folders in which the material was received into the archives.

The fonds consists of application forms, lists of graduates, course outlines and teaching materials, newsletters, calendars, newsclippings, scrapbooks, extensive photographs of nursing students and activities. Also includes records of the Alumnae Association.

The fonds consists of Frank and Lucy's personal papers including correspondence, financial and miscellaneous material; Frank’s business records related to the Rosedale Coal Mine (including reports from a Pinkerton detective he hired to work undercover at the mine during a time of labour unrest, the Winnipeg General Strike, and the One Big Union), Sentinel Oils, etc.; a recorded interview with Norman Moodie about his father’s career and his own career (1982); miscellaneous papers related to Maggie, including her notes on teaching; Marion's correspondence, poems, sheet music, artwork, and certificates and newspaper clippings related to her nursing career; miscellaneous recipe books, scrapbooks, greeting cards, etc. related to Frank and Lucy’s children and extended family; and extensive photographs of the Moodie family, Calgary General Hospital and early nursing, the Rosedale Mine and the Drumheller area, Sentinel Oils and the Turner Valley area, etc.

• The fonds consists of constitution and rules (1911); minutes (1913-1924, 1927-1928, 1947-1957, 1959-1964, 1970-1999); correspondence (1913-1921); office files (1952-1958, 1978-2007); financial records (1954-1990); scrapbooks (1950-1983); and photographs (1921-1970).

The fonds consists of diaries, correspondence and personal papers of Anne, Mary, Hilda, Evelyn and Gladys. Much of the correspondence is between the sisters, and includes letters they received from the sixth sister, Ellen. The diaries are rich in reflections on their spiritual lives as well as their day-to-day activities. The records relate primarily to their personal relationships, and are strong in documenting sisterhood, lives of unmarried women, and old age.

Anne's papers in include her first "book of cases" as a nurse. The papers of Mary, Hilda, Evelyn and Gladys all include details of their teaching careers. The papers of Evelyn and Gladys include details of their Moral Re-Armament activities, and manuscripts of their short fiction and biographies.

The fonds also includes photographs of all six sisters, their parents, homes, cats and friends. The notebooks of the nurses who cared for Evelyn and Gladys during the final years of their lives are also present.

• The fonds consists of manuscripts of While Rivers Flow and her articles about nursing and northern Alberta; scripts for radio broadcasts; correspondence with, and reminiscences of fellow public health nurses; list of public health nursing staffs; and photographs of northern Alberta and nursing.

The collection consists of reminiscences, biographical notes, letters, diaries and journals, newspaper clippings, recorded interviews, slides and photographs pertaining to nursing experiences.
