Biographical history

J. Norman Hood came to Pincher Creek, Alberta from Galt, Ontario in 1904 and worked for J.H.W.S. Kemmis as a ranch hand on the Carrigean Ranch for a few years. He then took a position with Scott Brothers and later with Thomas H. Scott. He was a mortician. In 1920 Hood returned to Galt. While in Pincher Creek he was a member of the Masons and Oddfellows.

The fonds consists of photographs of the Frank slide, the funeral of Kootenai Brown, Oil City, mountain areas, the 1912 Calgary Stampede, Waterton and the Carrigean Ranch.

      PD 156, the original album, has apparently been taken apart and redesignated PA 2075. In the image bank the Stampede photos are labeled PD-156. There is a reference on the PD 156 box pointing to PA 2075.
