      J. Norman Hood came to Pincher Creek, Alberta from Galt, Ontario in 1904 and worked for J.H.W.S. Kemmis as a ranch hand on the Carrigean Ranch for a few years. He then took a position with Scott Brothers and later with Thomas H. Scott. He was a mortician. In 1920 Hood returned to Galt. While in Pincher Creek he was a member of the Masons and Oddfellows.
