Biographical history
Knight Academy, a Mormon-controlled school offering instruction in grades 9-12 and the fundamentals of Mormonism, was opened in Raymond, Alberta in 1910. Heber S. Allen was the prime instigator in the establishment of the school and it was financed by members of the local Mormon Church. It was briefly called the Taylor Academy before being renamed for Jesse Knight, a major financial contributor. It closed in 1921 and the building was sold to the Raymond School District for use as a public high school.
