Biographical history
James Francis Stott, 1935-2005, was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1951. He worked first with the CBC in Toronto but then followed a career as a newspaperman in Barrie, Ontario, Vancouver, British Columbia and finally in Calgary, Alberta, where he worked for the Albertan and Herald newspapers. As a freelancer he was the Canadian correspondent for the Oil and Gas Journal of Houston, Texas. He was active in the Calgary Herald retirees' association and as a volunteer at the Calgary Distress Centre. He was first married to Sharon and they had two children, Shanna and Michael. He was remarried to Elizabeth, ?-2001.
