Biographical history
James M. Taylor, ?-1941, was born in Brigden, Ontario. In 1902 he prospected in the Klondike, after which he returned to Brigden and ran a sawmill, 1908-1910. He came to Alberta to homestead with other Brigdenites in 1910 or 1911, near the new town of New Brigden. He was accidently killed in a hunting accident in 1941, at which time his wife, Lil, returned to Ontario. The farm was later purchased by Albert McClean.

The fonds consists of diaries (1934-1936), correspondence (1922-1941), account book for sawmill and farm (1908-1923), insurance policies, tax notices and grazing leases. Includes Mrs. Taylor's correspondence about the estate (1942).
