Biographical history
Hugh McKellar, 1841-1934, was born in Scotland. He came to Canada as a young man and graduated from Knox College, Toronto in 1874. He served as a Presbyterian minister in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, 1874-1876, and in High Bluff and Prospect, Manitoba, 1876-1888. He was the minister of various churches in Ontario from 1888 until 1904 when he came to the Priddis area of Alberta. In 1912 he moved to Calgary, where he remained until his death. He married Catherine McDermid, ?-1906, in 1881 and they had two children, Hugh and Catherine.
