        Henry B. "Hilly" Hill of Calgary, Alberta was a disabled First World War veteran, and a professed communist. He first met William Aberhart in 1929 through his wife, Letitia "Lettie", who worked at Crescent Heights High School when Aberhart was the principal. Hilly became a personal friend and advisor of the man who soon became the Social Credit Premier of Alberta. Hilly encouraged Aberhart to purchase the Albertan newspaper, to give the Alberta Social Credit League an offical news outlet. He worked for O.C. Arnott and Company from the 1930s to the mid-1940s. During the Second World War he was the public relations officer for the National War Finance board. After the war he worked for Osler, Hammond and Nanton.
