Biographical history
George Heaton, 1861-1945, was born in Birmingham, England, came to Canada in 1887, and settled near Pincher Creek, Alberta. In 1891 he married Amy Miles, 1863-1951, originally from Ireland, and they had two children, George Falconer, 1903-1966, and Lorna (Cox), 1986-1973. He established the Park Ranch in the Maycroft district, and ranched there until he retired to Pincher Creek in 1942. On his death his son took over the ranch.

The fonds consists of ranch account book (1887-1898) which includes some England accounts (1882-1886); letterbook (1902-1915); brand registrations (1915); and photographs of Park Ranch (1890-1912).
