History
William Fallow, 1853-1938, was born in New Richmond, Quebec and was trained as a blacksmith. He moved to Winnipeg in 1879 and to Banff, Alberta in 1886. He was employed as a railway construction worker with the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) and then appointed as section foreman at Banff. Later he moved to Gleichen and was roadmaster of the Calgary and Edmonton Railway. After leaving the CPR he was an inspector of roads, bridges and ferries with the Alberta government for fourteen years. He also operated a store in Calgary. He and his wife, Margaret Jamieson, had eleven children including Herbert J., William A., Mrs. Allan, Myrtle (Cuyler), Mrs. Bray, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Dalton.
