The subseries consists of biographical research on Donald Cameron, research notes and outlines, correspondence between Lewis and Cameron, and drafts of papers. subseries also consists of a copy of the official opinion in the matter of psychiatric procedures at the Allan Memorial Institute from 1948-1964, press releases and newspaper articles on these procedures. Records also include draft of a paper by Raymond Prince, annotated by Dr. Lewis on “The CIA and the Origins of Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill: A Historical Note.”

      Donald Cameron was the first Director of the Allan Memorial Institute and was involved in experiments for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involving psychiatric patients. These experiments became controversial when brought to light during the mid 1980s, resulting in a federal investigation.
