Biographical history
Robert William "Bob" Lamb, 1923-1996, was born in Lashburn, Saskatchewan and at the age of six his family moved to Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from Victoria High School and was an engineer with CFRN Radio School in Edmonton from 1938 to1942. During the Second World War, from 1942 to1944, he was engineering supervisor with #2 Air Observers School in Edmonton. He moved to Calgary where he was Vice-President and Chief Engineer of CFCN Radio / Television from 1944 to 1980. From 1980 to 1994 he was president of Alberta Broadcasting in Fort McMurray. Over the years he served as President of the Western Association of Broadcasters, and as a Director, Cable Television Association of Alberta, CFCN Communications, and Shaw Cable. He was president of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Calgary Convention and Visitors Bureau. He married Betty in 1942 and they had two children, David, ?-1997, and Marian.
