Biographical history
Arthur S. Dawe, 1922-1997, was born and raised in Vernon, British Columbia. After high school he went to work for Bennett & White Construction (a Calgary-based company) as a timekeeper in 1944. While with the company he travelled extensively throughout the province. In the 1950s Dawe took a job in Field, British Columbia with the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) from which he retired in 1985. Dawe married Jo Anne Cowdrill in 1947 and they had two daughters and one son, including Frances. The Dawes retired in Kamloops, British Columbia.
