Biographical history
Alexander E. Brunton, 1900-1952, was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to Canada in 1920. He worked at various occupations until settling in Calgary, Alberta as a plumber at the Calgary General Hospital. From 1942 to 1952 he was president of Local 8 of the Hospital Employees Association. For three years he was vice-president of the Calgary Federation of Civic Employees, and from 1947 until 1952 was president of the Calgary Trades and Labour Council.
