History
Joseph Wyman, 1868-1942, was born in East Templeton, Quebec and came west about 1905 to Dundurn, Saskatchewan. He operated a store in Macklin, Saskatchewan from 1908 to 1914 when he moved to Ponoka, Alberta. Wyman's final move was to Calgary in 1920 where he operated two Wyman Hardware stores in addition to stores in Ponoka, Drumheller, Carstairs, Acme and Okotoks. The family lived in the Elbow Park district and also had a home in Banff. He and his wife Annie Jane Small, 1880-1959, had three children, Robert Allan, 1902-1942?, Harold, 1906-1936, and Mildred Ellen (Pilson), 1912-1988. Allan worked on the construction of the Lethbridge Northern Irrigation District and Mildred attended St. Hilda's School for Girls.
