History
Arthur Henry Wray, 1906-1993, was born in Port Colborne, Ontario and educated at Alexandra High School in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He trained as an accountant and married Florence Ellen Parkin, 1915-1998, of Banff. They had one son, Arthur Joseph. Wray campaigned for the Social Credit Party in the 1935 provincial election, and in 1944 was elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Banff-Cochrane. He was re-elected in 1948. In his first term he was involved in a dispute with the Social Credit cabinet over snow-clearing in the Cochrance area and sat on the other side of the Legislature.
