        Arthur Edward Wilson, 1881-1934, was born in Far Cotton, Hardingstone, Northamptonshire, England and came to Canada in 1903. He lived in Indian Head, Fort Qu'Appelle, Balgonie and Regina in Saskatchewan, and Medicine Hat, Alberta, before settling in Calgary in 1905 where he worked at the land titles office. He married Lily Plant, 1888-1976, in 1911 and they had three children, Kathleen Plant, 1911-1990, York Plant, 1914-1939, and Ruth Plant, 1919- . During the First World War he served in the military as a major. After the war the family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia.
