William Howard "Bill" Tye, 1925-2018 , was born in Edmonton, Alberta and after high school worked for several years for Northern Alberta Railways. He then attended the University of Alberta, after which he was hired by Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas, Pacific Petroleums [Petro-Canada] and Bow Valley Industries in Calgary. Tye was active as a volunteer in the Children's Hospital Foundation, Winston Churchill Society, Calgary Family Service Bureau, Financial Executives Institute, Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Parks Foundation, Military Museums and Historical Society of Alberta. He was married to June Tye.
