        History

        Ellen Derry, 1912- , was born in Quincy, Illinois and soon after her family came to Calgary, where her father worked at the Tregillus brick yard. The family moved to Drumheller in 1918 when her father took a job at the Midland coal mine. Ellen lived there until 1957 when she moved to Red Deer, and later to Sylvan Lake. She married Charles Ellis Stone and they had three sons, John, Terry, and Robert Bernard, 1945-2011.
