        Born in Vöcklabruck, Austria, Jim Silye was a professional football player, businessman, and politician. Member of Parliament for the Reform Party of Canada 1993-1997, though changed to the Progressive Conservative Party in 1996. He ran for the Progressive Conservative Party in the 2000 federal election, but was defeated.
