Biographical history

James Shouldice, 1850-1925, was born in Chatsworth, Ontario and in 1901 leased the Namaka ranch in southern Alberta from George Lane. In 1906 he purchased land west of Calgary near what became Shouldice Park. He and his wife, Mary Margaret Elizabeth Perdue, 1861-1939, had nine children, J. Harry, 1882-1965, Fred T., Edward Earle, ?-1965, Stanley H., 1897-1978, Roy P., 1899-1981, Ida (McKay), Gertrude (Lowrie), Mildred (Brown), and Myrtle (McKinnon/Trevathan), 1900-1985.
