History
John Senycz of Calgary, Alberta, formerly of Bellevue, Alberta, began collecting information about the legendary Lost Lemon Mine in 1953. According to the legend, a gold deposit was found in the Livingstone Range of southwestern Alberta in 1870 by two prospectors known as Lemon and Blackjack. They quarreled, and Lemon killed Blackjack and then became insane. The incident was observed by two First Nations persons who agreed to keep the location secret. The search for the mine continues to be a preoccupation of amateur prospectors.
