History
Frederick Leslie Sara, 1886-1940, was born in England and came to Calgary, Alberta in 1913. He was active in Boy Scouts for many years and during the 1930s was commissioner in charge of publicity for the Boy Scouts Association of Alberta. He was an active naturalist and wrote a column in the Calgary Herald entitled "What Nature Shows Us". He also broadcast a variety of nature programs on local radio including a series entitled "Woodsmoke at Twilight". In 1939 he became an honorary Stoney. He was a local agent for several eastern Canadian and British hardware firms. He and his wife, Dorothy, had one daughter, Jocelyn (Snaddon).
