Biographical history

Samuel Saunders Clarke, 1861-1937, was born in Birmingham, England and came to Canada in 1876, residing in Toronto. He brought his family to Calgary, Alberta in 1905 and established a heating and ventilating firm known as S.S. Clarke and Company Ltd. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He and his wife had four children, Charles B. "Chuck", 1887-1947, Herbert F., Arthur E, and Mrs. McLeod (later Rattray). Charles' daughter married Alister Morrow, 1904-1976, of Springbank.
