Biographical history
Roxanne Walsh moved to Turner Valley, Alberta in 1998. She gradually became concerned about the drinking water situation in the town as a result of the presence of the Turner Valley Gas Plant Historic Site. In 2005, she and several other residents formed the Turner Valley Gas Plant Committee for a Safe Historic Site. The group and others worked to encourage the government to develop an effective containment wall at the plant. Walsh and others used the Environmental Appeals Board to encourage other action with respect to water quality and ultimately asked the government to fully reclaim the plant.
