        Priscilla Derrick, 1905-2010, was born in Carrington, North Dakota, USA. In 1911 she came with her widowed mother Nellie and siblings, Mary, Dan and James, to a homestead at Faith, between Warner and Foremost, Alberta. She moved to Aldersyde where in 1930 she married Clifford Rowland, 1899-1967. The family later moved to Calgary. Priscilla attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and worked in the city for several years. The Rowlands had four children, Patrick, 1931-1987, Dennis, 1940-1965, Dixie (Shah), 1932-2000 and Catherine "Kay" (Pedersen), 1938-1998.
