Joseph Emile Rosse, 1879-1947, was born in Switzerland and came to the Syvan Lake area of Alberta in 1903. He farmed near the town and then became a merchant. He married Alice Collet and they have several children, including Gaston, Henry, Joseph, Mrs. Simpson, and Mrs. Shamlock.
