History
Garnet “Jim” Ross settled in the Fort McMurray district of Alberta in 1925. He maintained traplines in the district every winter for fifty years. He also worked as a forest ranger, carpenter, boat builder, and commercial fisher. He was one of the last trappers to use traditional dog teams for transportation. He was married to Margaret Ross.
