Biographical history
Robert Meyer Stuart Owen, 1904-1990, was born in Caernarvon, Wales and received his BSc in Geology from the University of London. He did geological field work in Venezuela and came to Alberta in 1930. Owen worked for the Provincial Department of Mines. He went to the Middle East with the Anglo-Persian Oil Company from 1936 to 1952 and then returned to Calgary. Owen married Jean Johnstone, a native of Edmonton.
