Biographical history
Robert "Bob" Llewellyn, 1932-2017, was born in Drumheller, Alberta and was a local coal mine historian in the Drumheller Valley. He operated a bakery and later a real estate firm. In 1971 he started a local museum, for which he gathered documents and photographs relating to the coal mining industry. The museum was closed in the early 1980s.

The collection consists of correspondence, invoices, etc. of Rosedale Coal and Clay Products, Great West Coal Co., and Comet Coal Co. (1917-1939); wage statements, certificate, etc. relating to the Rosedale, Wayne, and Drumheller mines (1916-1970); photographs of coal mines (1912-1972); and a recorded interview with Robert Llewellyn (1981).
