Biographical history
Robert Caskie, 1886-1971, was born in Scotland. He apprenticed as a carpenter, 1902-1907, and came to Calgary, Alberta before 1911. He served with the 49th Battalion CEF during First World War, and with the 2nd Battalion Calgary Highlanders during the Second World War. In civilian life he worked as a carpenter for a variety of companies, including Revelstoke and A.B. Cushing Mills. He retired in 1960. He and his wife, Jean, had one daughter, Muriel (MacPhail).
