- File consists of miscellaneous research materials relating to a proposed fictional account of Jean Caux - Cataline - a Mule packer in the Cariboo country in the 1900s. Includes repository photocopies of letters from the British Columbia Provincial Archives (1972 May 29), regarding materials relating to Caux in the archives, correspondence with Henry G. Castillou (1972 June 21 - 1972 October 10), grandson to the partner of Caux, and Christie Harris's letter to her family (1972 August 25), describing a trip "up-country" in B.C. to interview several old-timers who remembered Cataline.
- File includes research notes made in libraries, notes from interviews with various individuals, descriptions of the landscape and several beginning fragments of the novel which was never completed.
