Biographical history

George Edward Reem, 1870-1961, was born in Minnesota, USA and came to Alberta with his family in 1903. He settled at Cayley and in 1920 moved to Calgary while still continuing to operate his farm. He and his wife, Clara Mae Stout, 1872-1954, had eight children Gladys Adaline, 1895-1918, Clarence William, 1897-1981, Ruth Gertrude (Springer), 1900-?, Esther Agnes, 1901-1975, George Stout, 1904-1918, Grace Ione, 1906-1988, Alice Irene, 1908-?, and Helen Mae, 1910-1984. Clarence was unmarried and operated the family farm at Cayley for most of his life. He was very active with the Alberta Wheat Pool. Ruth married George J. Stringer, ?-1935, who was a member of the Royal North-West Mounted Police before the First World War. They had one son, Roy.
