History
William "John" Redmond, 1879-1957, was born in Toronto and in 1899 joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) at Regina, Saskatchewan. He served at Maple Creek and was a member of the force for nine years. In 1909, he bought the Maple Creek News and remained the owner until 1954. He married Lily Mae Lynn and they had two children, Henry Lynn and John, ?-1943. John Sr. was official historian for the Oldtimers Association.
