        History

Christopher Millers Rawlinson, ca. 1870-1943, and his brother, Arthur Millers Rawlinson, ?-1926, were born in Bath, England and came to Calgary, Alberta in 1884. In 1888 they started Rawlinson's Hackney Horse Ranch, just northwest of the city. The stock for the ranch was provided by another brother, Robert Henry Millers Rawlinson, who ranched nearby. The brothers sold the ranch in 1907 and returned to England and the Caribbean. They came back to Alberta in 1909 but travelled extensively. Christopher and Arthur never married. Robert had one son, George Henry, ?-1962. George and his wife, Susannah Readshaw, 1898-1986, had two children, Kenneth Henry, ?-1936, and Virginia (Ross), 1917-2002.
